MeiGen provides built-in AI-powered prompt enhancement to help you get better results from your prompts. This feature is especially useful when you have a brief idea but aren’t sure how to describe it in detail.
Prompt enhancement works best with short, simple prompts (under 30 words). If you already have a detailed prompt with specific visual descriptions, you probably don’t need it — the AI may over-process your carefully crafted instructions.

How It Works

Click the magic wand button in the prompt editor to enhance your prompt. The system automatically detects which model you’re using and applies the appropriate enhancement strategy. There are two different enhancement modes, applied automatically based on the selected model:

Polish (Non-Niji 7 Models)

Used for: Nanobanana, Seedream, Z Image Turbo, GPT image1.5 When you click enhance with a non-Niji 7 model selected, MeiGen calls the Polish API. This mode:
  • Adds visual details: composition, lighting, color palette, textures
  • Improves grammar and structure
  • Keeps your original intent intact
  • Optimizes the prompt format for the selected model

Expand (Niji 7 / Midjourney)

Used for: Midjourney Niji 7 When Niji 7 is selected, MeiGen uses a different Expand API specifically optimized for Midjourney’s prompt syntax. This mode:
  • Expands your idea into Midjourney-optimized language
  • Adds style descriptors and composition hints that Niji 7 responds well to
  • May suggest Midjourney-specific keywords (anime styles, artistic techniques)
  • Structures the prompt for Midjourney’s interpretation engine

Niji 7 also auto-translates non-English prompts to English before generation. You can write your prompt in any language — the system handles translation automatically.

Reverse Prompt

In addition to enhancement, MeiGen offers Reverse Prompt — the ability to extract a prompt from an existing image. How to use it:
  1. Drag any image from the gallery onto the prompt area
  2. Or click Reverse Prompt in the image detail dialog
The AI analyzes the image and generates a detailed prompt describing what it sees. You can then use this as a starting point, edit it, and generate new variations.
